Today we got lost

Activity of the day: getting lost! First, we tried to get to a giant mansion-turned-museum called Belvedere. We decided to try something other than the U-bahn, our normal mode of transportation. It turns out that was not a very good idea. We took a sort of shady looking train that was, supposedly, going to the street we wanted. Let this be a warning to you, future Austria visitors, Neustadt and Neusiedl are very different places! So, we took an hour detour into a deserted train station waiting for a train where we desperately searched maps, trying to figure out where we went wrong. We finally got there eventually.

After a delightful stroll in the upper part of the mansion (we saw Gustav Klimt's The Kiss! They're crazy about that painting over here), the time came to visit the lower part. The upper and lower parts are separated by two football fields worth of garden. Believe it or not, we actually got lost trying to find the door into the lower part of the mansion. We ended up choosing the wrong direction (we had a 50/50 chance and chose wrong. Go figure) and ended up outside the mansion walls. So, we diligently trecked back up to the very front, and took the entire walk again. This time we chose the right direction and got to see a wonderful collection of surreal art. I am being sarcastic about the wonderful part. It was weird.

THEN we started trecking towards a neato museum called Kuntz Haus that some crazy architect designed in some wild and revolutionary way. I'm not sure about the details...we didn't make it. Becuase we got lost. Then it was closed. But don't worry! We're going tomorrow! After asking the exceptionally accomodating people behind the hostel desk EXACTLY where to go. And this time we won't be tricked by those signs that say "blah blah germanword musik blah blah kuntz."

By the way, the Austrians LOVE Lindsey. She has been hit on numerous times. This one asked Lindsey to marry him.

In other news, today I had my very first Viennese sneeze.
